It's hard to talk about this book without spoiling it. It's hard to talk about this book at all because, frankly, it's a difficult topic.
So let's cut to the chase: This book is amazing. The writing, the illustrations, everything. The Truth that the monster wants is so heart-wrenching and speaks so honestly to something that I've never experienced but can certainly relate to. The lessons shared by the stories were obvious but crafted in such a way that it doesn't feel like it.
Beautiful, sad, and cathartic. Highly recommended for just about anyone.
